COLLEGE

St. Philip’s Theological College, an institution of the Anglican Church of Kenya (A.C.K.) is located in Maseno, Western Province, Kenya. The college was founded in 1956 having played a major role in training pastors and lay people for A.C.K. over the years. Alumni of St. Philip’s include a number of current Kenyan bishops, one of whom is Bishop Simon Oketch of this Diocese, Maseno North.

Currently, the College has 34 students enrolled in a three-year diploma program through St. Paul’s United Theological College, Limuru. The future goal for the diploma program is 12 students per year for a total of 36 students.

The College, situated on a beautiful treed seven-and-a-half-acre campus has an excellent library, highly qualified tutors with a computer center andbookstore. The hosting of visiting seminarians, monks and priests energizes the college’s curriculum and student discussions. Other enterprises such as beekeeping continue to be developed with the hope of moving the diploma program toward a more sustainable future.
